We greet you all with peace love and mercy. What a humbling yet rewarding experience the first 2 weekends of the month of ramadaan has been. The Lace Up For Change BoeberRun team and greater community have served over 1400 homeless and less fortunate guests already with 2 Ramadan weekends still to come, Alhamdoelilah. On Friday evening we visited Pine Street in Woodstock, the Parade and Chapel Street in District Six. We were honoured to have Sheikh Gabriel’s participate the evenings festivities. Saturday we visited the warm hearted yet impoverished community of New Horizons where we were joined by Oscar Petersen (of Joe Barber fame)
Feeding this many people would not have been possible without the support from the Boeber Run Family and our sponsors. Again, SpiceMecca supplied the Boeber Mix, Islamic Relief South Africa provided us with Milk and much needed blankets to keep our guests warm and joining us for the second week now, the Breyani Bros from the Husami Masjid, Cravenby supplied warm and nutritious Soy based Breyani for our guests.
The New Horizons visit was also an emotional event on many levels but none more so than for Aunty Gaybah, the resident mom to all in New Horizons.
On this beautiful rainy, yet cold day, lets say a prayer for our homeless and cleanse our hearts, that what we doing is purely for the sake of Allah (SAW) and not for our own personal gain ❤ ~ Irafaan Abrahams
