Alghamdulillah for the amazing weekend activities in which #TheCrew was involved over the long weekend.
On Thursday evening we were invited to break fast with some special guests together with the team from Metamorphasize Personal Training
Later that evening at the Hout Bay Boeber Run we were overwhelmed by both the support received and the needs of the impoverished residents of Hout Bay. This community is primarily based in the area up on the hillside overlooking the bay. This must have been the biggest Boeber Run to date; we fed over 600 people Alghamdulillah.
On Friday evening, along with SKW Academy of Excellence , the Boeber Run family served our guests in Bo Kaap before heading to the Grand Parade in the CBD and Chapel Street. Unfortunately, due to logistical reasons on the evening, we had to abandon the plan to also serve the Athlone area.
On Saturday morning #TheCrew found themselves back in Bo Kaap preparing a 100 litre pot of breyani. Again, we give thanks to the team at SKW Academy of Excellence for their support and guidance in preparing an awesome pot of food. The food was distributed in New Horizons for Iftaar.
Later that evening #TheCrew headed to Husami Masjid, Cravenby for the 7th Boeber Run for the month of Ramadaan. Again, the support received has been overwhelming. Cravenby came out in droves to support this Run.
The run finished at the Bellville Market, from where we headed to the station under the bridge in Bellville. After serving guests in this area, we headed to Parow and finished the evening distributing food in Goodwood at about 2:30 am Sunday morning.
The MeloMed support staff, were also busy this weekend, having assisted a wheelchair bound patient on the Parade, transported a patient to Tygerberg Hospital who convulsed in Bellville, attended to a sick Baby as well as a TB patient at the Bellville Station. We are forever greatful for the medical support that Melomed offers to both the runners and our guests.
The support received from the Boeber Run family over the last 3 nights has been overwhelming. To date we have served over 2500 guests. We make duah that all your contributions are rewarded abundantly.
It is therefore with confidence that we can say that the 2017 Ramadaan Boeber Run has been a success. Our final event on Friday 23 June will sadly bring the Ramadaan program to an end.
We were also fortunate to have the Breyani Bros. from the Husami Masjid, Cravenby join us in feeding our guests throughout the month. To date, we have fed well over 2500 guests.
We are truly blessed and forever grateful. Thanks to all of your support, there are more sponsors approaching the BoeberRun and Lace Up For Change to get involved with this initiative. May all of your efforts receive an abundance of rewards In’Sha Allah.
On Friday, 23 June, Legacy Kids SA NPC will join us as in our endeavor to feed guests in the Kensington and Woodstock areas.

They aim to equip children with better life skills as well as the necessary tools to become successful adults. Through their interactive mentorship-driven programs, they plan to address the social issues that these children face everyday, such as high pregnancy rates as well as drug and alcohol abuse, among others.
LegasyKidsSA’s firm belief is to spread kindness; they want to generate a culture of giving.
We welcome them onboard and look forward to a lasting collaboration in the future.
