The #LU4C Dragon Boat Regatta, a boat race comprising of a selection of teams manning traditional, beautifully decorated dragon boats, will be making waves at the Half Moon Bay in Century City on Sunday 8 April 2018.
Watch from the sidelines or get some buddies together and compete, the choice is yours. The day begins at 10am, with the last race starting at approximately 4pm.
Steeped in rich history and tradition, dragon boat festivals have been enthralling spectators in China for thousands of years. For those of you unsure of what to expect, dragon boats are human-powered watercrafts that vary in size – our boats will be manned by a crew of 21 people.
The event promises to be an exciting day filled with fun and challenges while at the same time benefiting the Lace Up For Change Beneficiaries – The Tygerberg Children’s Hospital Trust, the Ihata Shelter for abused woman and Children and the newly established LU4C Bursary Fund.
