Lace Up For School

A truly special morning spent with the kids at Thornton Road Primary School today. Celebrations a plenty as learners celebrated the end of their school year, as well as a 96% pass rate. Added to that excitement was happiness as Lace Up For Change presented learners with school shoes, and socks for the 2019 school year.

The majority of the learners at the school face challenging socio-economic circumstances which often means that these children often do not have the basic uniform requirements. Our hope is that with these shoes the children’s 2019 academic year can get off to a great start.

We thank all of our donors for their support throughout the year making projects such as this one possible. We would also like to thank Bahiesha Solomons for ensuring that the learners each receive a pair of socks too.

Coincidentally our very own Mr Irafaan Abrahams celebrates his birthday today.  Him coming out on his birthday to spread some joy to others, is testament to the calibre of man Irafaan is.  We make duah that all of his efforts are rewarded in abundance in the hereafter.  Enjoy the festivities Fanie, and I am sure that there are some special eclairs in your VERY NEAR future. Much love from all of us at LU4C
