LU4C – Talfalah Tablet PC Hand Over
When ex learner and #LU4C Ambassador Ismail Janodien approached us to assist the Talfalah Primary School with getting Tablet Computers for the learners, we jumped at the opportunity as this speak directly to our Lace Up For Schools initiative.
Several Runners committed to pledging mileage to raise funds for the Tablet PC initiative with the first run taking place on 31 December 2019 at the Mosque of Al- Ghamama in Medina. Irafaan Abrahams and family adding an international flavour to this initiative.
The Running Doc, Siraaj Solomon and his family carried on this initiative in Langebaan which crew members participated in the Memorial Run on the 31 December 2019 held at the Sea Point Prominade.
We were extremely worried as the next fund-raising run; the Bay to Bay Race; was cancelled due to extreme weather conditions, but the ladies from the Mintin Development Project answered our call and contributed generously to this initiative.
The hand Over of the devices was scheduled for the first week of the second school term, unfortunately, again this was postponed due to the #Covid19 Pandemic and subsequent #Lockdown.
Finally, Friday the 17th July 2020, the #LU4C Crew could hand over to the devices to Mr Kariem and the few children that were present at school.
Thanks to the generosity of donors such as Pioneer Foods, each pupil receive a loaf of SASKO bread, a punnet of food, a party packet and an extra special sweet treat from our Proudly South African friends at Ooh Fudge
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our runners, sponsors and donors for helping us to empower the learners at Talfalah Primary School. May your deeds and intentions receive the highest of accolades.
